NEW ORLEANS SHOTGUN HOME

This shotgun home in New Orleans was recently passed down from parents to their son. As a teacher, the new young owner had many books that he needed to display. He also needed to adjust the layout to maximize the efficiency of each room.  When we first arrived, the front door entered into what is now the dining room, and the space had no function other than as a passthrough. A second boarded up door entered into the living room which we replaced and made functional once again. This allowed for a formal entry space, dining room, living room and kitchen. We used bright bold colors and a variety of antiques to create an eclectic space that finally felt like home.
