This NYC duplex was gutted and we started from scratch. Below are a few photos from the weeks leading up to the project's completion. These photos show the powder room, master bathroom, and a window bench that was built in between a structural column and a side wall of the living room. The bench adds extra seating in the living room with a thick cushion and accent pillows and creates extra storage in this NYC apartment. The duplex has a well sized half bath on the first floor. We began the design by selecting a bold patterned tile floor. We pulled colors from the tile to select the vanity. The space is not only beautiful but functional as a custom door hides a large amount of storage. The master bathroom is extremely elegant. With no natural light, we selected a light color palate to help make the space feel even larger. Our selections included various tiles including Carrara marble and glass mosaics, a white vanity, high end shower fixtures, and a built in storage nook with a hamper. The custom vanity utilizes every inch of space in the master bath. A tall storage cabinet on the far end provides space for toiletries, medicine etc. and has a built in wall outlet to store hair dryers and other bathroom appliances.
